VE Day May 8th 2020 75 years

On the next day 8th May, celebrations broke out all over the world to mark Victory in Europe or VE Day. In Britain, Winston Churchill marked the occasion by declaring 8th May a public holiday. When the news that the axis forces had finally admitted defeat came, communities all around the country came together to celebrate, there were street parties and parades throughout the Western world, especially in the United Kingdom. More than a million people took to the streets in Great Britain and the day was declared a national holiday.
Hand Cream Donation to Wrexham Maelor Hospital
/in News/by Keith LeaBroughton Community Council was made aware that one of the issues at Wrexham Maelor Hospital staff where facing was the effect of continually washing their hands.
To show appreciation from the residents, Broughton Community Council has provided 70 tubes of hand cream for the staff affected.
No words can describe the exceptional professionalism, dedication and sacrifice that all NHS staff have, and still are, providing. To those in need of their services during the current coronavirus pandemic, they are invaluable.
It is only a small gesture and has been much appreciated by those who have received it at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
