Broughton Cemetery Safety Audit
Dear Broughton Community,
The community council has some important news regarding Broughton Cemetery, a place of remembrance and reflection for many of us.
With the well-being of all visitors in mind, we recently commissioned a thorough safety audit of the cemetery’s headstones. This careful assessment revealed that many memorials require attention to ensure they remain secure and safe for everyone.
We understand how deeply personal and important these monuments are to you and your loved ones. Please be assured that we approach this matter with the utmost respect and sensitivity. We have engaged a professional contractor specialising in this careful restoration work to address these safety concerns.
The restoration project is scheduled to begin on August 12th. We want to reassure you that the community council will cover all costs associated with this necessary maintenance. Our goal is to preserve the dignity of these memorials while ensuring the safety of all who visit this sacred space.
We recognise that you may have questions or concerns about this process. Please don’t hesitate to contact our Community Council Clerk for more information or if you need any support during this time. We’re here to listen and assist you in any way we can.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to maintain the beauty and safety of our community cemetery. Your loved ones’ memorials are precious to us all, and we are committed to treating them with the care and respect they deserve.
Warm regards,
Broughton Community Council
